The City of Henderson hosts a variety of special events throughout the year including annual favorites and seasonal events. They are designed to bring the community together while enjoying the many benefits of parks and recreation.
Here are some of Henderson’s signature events.
May 1st – May 31st, 2020
We’ve hidden 25 treasure boxes on Henderson trails. The first person to locate each treasure box will discover a certificate inside that can be redeemed for a $25 gift card to a local business or a FunCard.
If you are not the first to find the box, take a selfie with the box and email to COHoutdoorRecreation@cityofhenderson.com to be entered into a weekly raffle for additional prizes.
May 9th & 10th, 2020
Join us Mother’s Day weekend as Water Street transforms into an arts district for Art Festival of Henderson. Shop for unique art, watch live demonstrations, listen to live music and enjoy food and beverage. Admission and parking is free.
4th of July, 2020
The City of Henderson salutes America by presenting its annual Fourth of July Celebration. The all-ages event features live entertainment, children’s activities and a spectacular fireworks show.

Along Water Street
Water Street transforms into a classic car show during Henderson Hot Rod Days showcasing classic, custom and muscle cars.
Free to spectators of all ages, the day includes live entertainment, food and souvenir vendors, and an awards presentation.

Along Paseo Verde Parkway
Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll is our spin on the Ciclovia phenomenon that’s sweeping the globe. Originally founded in Bogota, Colombia, it’s where roads are closed to motorized traffic, allowing the community to come together and enjoy the streets on bicycles, skates, skateboards or simply on foot.
The car-free street fair is packed with activities for all ages. Along the route enjoy music; live performances; interactive demonstrations; and health, fitness and bicycle vendors.

Water Street District
Our special holiday presentation of WinterFest includes a variety of family-friendly activities including the official tree-lighting ceremony on Friday night. Saturday’s festivities conclude with our fabulous Evening Light Parade in the Water Street District.
Admission to the festival is free and is open to all ages. Some activities require a $5 wristband.
The Thursday & Friday Farmer’s Market is cancelled until May 1st, 2020
